Temper tantrum

There's no telling what will cause a temper tantrum or riotous laughter. This tantrum went down at a restaurant when Mimi and Mama brushed away the pretend poop that William squeezed out of a rubber lizard that he perched on a menu. Drama.

What's Eleanor doing this week?

Wearing funny hats and figuring out what her tongue can do.

Dessert dreams

Superman (who thinks he's Spiderman) and Paige checked out desserts after dinner in Chinatown. Notice Paige's larger-than-usual rear? She's wearing one of Williams size 6 diapers!

Where's big brother?

The big love bug is staying the night with Om Noi and Ba Noi so Nang can get a good night's sleep before running in the marathon tomorrow. Good luck, Ba!

Parental guilt

When I speak sharply, loudly, or harshly to this little wise ass, his response?  "Don't talk ugly like that. You love me," in the sweetest little high-pitched plea.  Cue the parental guilt.

Christmas 2012

The 2012 Christmas season started out swimmingly.  We attended Houston Zoolights, saw komono dragons, rhinoceroses, and giraffes in a particularly active state, and ate the freshest popcorn ever.  All of this paled in comparison to riding the carousel with Papa and jacking Alice's stroller skateboard.

Best night ever.

CHRISTMAS?!  This is going to be AWESOME!

Love the enthusiasm from Eleanor, and she was a highlight this season, but Christmas was a bit pitiful for the Ngos.  William got sick twice, and spent Christmas day with a double ear infection, high fever, and hacking cough.  Mom failed in the decorating department, and after going all over the city with a 2-1/2 year old who ooooohhhhed, "Look!  It's Christmas!" every time he saw Christmas lights, I made a few Christmas branches out of guilt.

Snotty noses, breathing treatments, acetaminophen for 103.9 degree fevers (which I know from taking a million rectal thermometer readings of the situation - William will drop trou at the mention of taking his temperature).  This is what Christmas looked like.

I'm so excited for the Big Wheel that Santa brought.  So excited.  And it is too big for me to ride.  Awesome.  Thanks, big guy.

Working her new hair accessory.

In the category of lazy holiday decorating, Mama forgot that the Ngos do not own stockings.  Santa saved the day by scrounging up some gift bags from his bag of toys to put hair bows and a bottle brush (for El) and some weird gacky stuff and a box of Cars bandaids (for William) under the "guilt trees".

The winner for best present?  A Hess helicopter with working rotors, lights, and sounds, and a car in the cargo hold - a free gift to Nang at work

Uncle Bubbles hooked William up with this playset.  Tiny elfen hands would have come in handy in trying to put it together.

A train, a dump truck, AND a crane?  Yes, please!

Monkey Man

The Monkey Man loves the mask Mimi and Papa bought him at the zoo (I curse them because this mask scares me especially when catch a glimpse of it in the dark).  Thank you, Miss Meg for the Christmas gift pjs!

What's Eleanor doing this week?

She's smiling (definitely has one dimple, maybe two), and laughing, and talking.
