Vegetable Miracle!

He doesn't hate EVERY vegetable. Corn on the cob has been a consistent favorite thus far.

New Heights

I read that one way to help convince toddlers to do what you want them to is to ask them to help you do it.  Can you help me put up these toys?  Can you help Mama put this in the trash can?  William does his best helping when he isn't asked and perhaps even expressly prohibited from an activity.  Here he is helping change a light bulb by climbing to the top of a stepladder.  Two-year olds do some scary things in the name of helping.

Developing Dexterity

William has turned into quite an efficient forager.  He's not too big on many veggies, but he'll eat questionable things off of the floor without blinking an eye.  If he can find a crack in the pantry, he's in there perusing the shelves he can reach for something to spoil his appetite for the next meal.  While I cooked dinner last night, he found an opportunity to get into the pantry, and could reach the tortilla chips. I thought I was safe because there were two binder clips holding the bag closed, but in his truly determined fashion, he got those off.  The rolled top confounded him, so he found an alternate route to the treasure - right through the front window.

Cool Breeze

On our way to meet Meg and Baby Julian for lunch, William's carseat was on the sunny side of the car. He kept chanting something that took awhile for me to understand, "Sun. Eyes....Sun. Eyes....Sun. Eyes." I looked back and he was covering his eyes, so I asked if he needed sunglasses. "Yeah, yeah, yeah!". I didn't have any in the car, but Nang's Dad lent him a pair after pho this morning.

Piano playing

He's got the loud playing down, and we're working on the quiet playing. He's perfecting the showmanship all on his own.

That's new

At least he wasn't on top of it!
